inXile Entertainment, the developer behind the insanely successful Wasteland 2 Kickstarter, has launched another Kickstarter for their new CRPG. Torment: Tides of Numenera is a single player RPG inspired by Planescape: Torment and set in the world of tabletop RPG Numenera.
The game, however, is not a sequel to Planescape: Torment and the story will not be continued. However, that’s not to say that Torment will not have familiar elements from PS:T. Players who have played PS:T will appreciate the old references while new players will not feel left out at the same time. It will also continue the legacy of PS:T in the sense of gameplay, combat and atheistic.
The game is going to be an isometric RPG that will let you play a specific character who will be accompanied by NPCs. Players will play as an embodiment of an old god that is being hunted by the recently awakened Angel of Entropy. You can read a lot more about the exciting story on their Kickstarter Page.
The game is going to be based on Unity and will available on PC, Mac and Linux platforms. As of now the $20 early bird tier is still available but running out fast as the campaign has already crossed $400k since its launch this morning. They also have an option where players can order both of inXile’s current RPGs in development, Torment: Tides of Numenera and Wasteland 2 DRM free for $45.
